# Places & World Clocks

**Places** are cards on Focus for people, studios, or locations you coordinate with. Each Place can show a **live timezone clock**—so "what time is it for them?" never sends you to a browser tab.

## Add a Place

1. Go to **Setup → Places**
2. Click **New Place**
3. Enter a **title** (e.g. "Berlin studio", "Client — Austin")
4. Set the **timezone**
5. Choose display options: digital or analog clock, optional contact details, background color
6. Save

## Show Places on Focus

1. **Setup → Options → Main page**
2. Turn on **Show Places**
3. Optional toggles:
   - **Show Places First** — cards appear above your current task
   - **Show Place Details** — contact info on the card
   - **Compact places & countdown cards** — denser layout for small or single-monitor screens

Click a Place card on Focus to jump to its edit form.

## Use cases

**Distributed team:** Pin Austin, Berlin, and Tokyo. Before you Slack someone, glance at Focus.

**Client work:** A Place per key client with local time and phone number in details.

**World clocks only:** You do not need heavy task lists to benefit—many people enable Places just for timezone cards.

## Tips

- Use **distinct background colors** so each Place is recognizable at a glance
- Pair with **Days Till** for launch dates and **Quick Notes** for dial-in numbers
- Hide Places in Options when you want a minimal Focus screen for a deep-work week
