# Notes (Journal)

**Notes** is a rich-text journal inside MNTT—meeting summaries, drafts, daily logs, and longer writing. It is **not** the same as **Quick Notes** (reference stickies and canvas). Notes is the blue FAB; Quick Notes is the amber FAB.

## Turn it on

1. **Setup → Options → Notes & schedule**
2. Enable **Enable Notes**
3. Optional: **Notes on Primary Monitor** — snaps the window to your main display when opened (great with dual-monitor setups)

## Open Notes

On Focus, tap the **blue sticky-note button** (bottom-right FAB stack).

## Calendar vs editor

- Opening **Notes** with no date shows the **calendar**—pick a day to read or write
- Opening with **today** or a specific date goes straight to the **editor** for that day
- Use **Editor** and **Calendar** tabs at the top to switch modes
- Navigate between days with prev/next arrows or day badges when you have multiple entries

## Writing

The editor supports rich text—headings, lists, links, and formatting you expect from a simple journal. Changes save as you work.

## Use cases

**Meeting notes:** After a call, open Notes on your primary monitor, capture decisions, close, and return to Focus on screen two.

**Daily log:** One note per day—what you shipped, blockers, mood. Review on **Overview** (note count) or browse the calendar monthly.

**Drafting:** Short blog posts or email drafts beside your task list without opening a separate app.

## Tips

- **Quick Notes** for phone numbers and sketches; **Notes** for paragraphs
- Alerts can append a line to today's note when they fire (when configured)
- Close with **×** or navigate back to Focus; monitor snap returns you to the alternate display if enabled
