# Focus View & Focus Mode

**Focus** is your home screen—the "next thing" display MNTT was built around. When a schedule is active, one action appears front and center. Complete it, and the next one surfaces.

## What you see on Focus

- The **current action** for the active schedule (or a calm message when none is queued)
- Optional **Places** and **Days Till** cards (Setup → Options → Main page)
- Header **clock** and, when enabled, time left in the current schedule block
- Optional **progress bar** for the week
- FAB buttons for **Timer**, **Quick Notes**, **Notes**, and **Alerts** when those features are enabled

## Working with your next action

- **Complete** — mark done and advance to the next action in the schedule
- **Schedule name** — open the full task list for that schedule
- **Pencil icon** — edit the current action
- **Checklist** — expand sub-steps inline when an action has a checklist

**Keyboard shortcuts:** `Alt+L` opens the task list; `Alt+A` creates a new action.

## Minimal display

In **Setup → Options → Appearance & size**, turn on **Minimal Action/Task Display** for a compact task layout—less chrome, more task text. Good on smaller screens or when Places and countdowns share the row.

With minimal display, **Hide nav on idle** (same section) can tuck the header away when you are heads-down.

## Focus mode

For an even calmer surface, click the **focus icon** on the current task (or enter from the task card). Focus mode shows a **single-task kiosk**—ideal for a side monitor or a do-not-disturb session.

- Checklists still work; completed steps can stay visible when configured
- Pick a duration when entering, or leave it untimed
- Click **Back to Dashboard** to exit early
- When a timed session ends, MNTT can flash an alert splash and play the alert tone so you notice — set **Focus mode complete alert** under Setup → Options → Alerts (0 seconds = silent; up to 99). Dismiss anytime while it is showing

## Use cases

**Second monitor:** Pin Focus on screen two for a always-visible next step. Use **Multi-Monitor Setup** to snap to your primary display when you need to edit.

**Deep work:** Enable Focus mode during a creative block so only the current action and its checklist remain.

**Consultant:** Glance at Focus between calls—schedule color and task title answer "who am I working for right now?"
