# Days Till Countdowns

**Days Till** tracks countdowns (or count-ups) to launches, deadlines, trips, and milestones. They appear as cards on Focus alongside your current task.

## Add a countdown

1. Go to **Setup → Days Till**
2. Click **New Days Till**
3. Enter a **title** and **target date**
4. Choose countdown vs count-up if offered
5. Save

Items sort automatically on Focus by how soon they arrive.

## Show countdowns on Focus

1. **Setup → Options → Main page**
2. Turn on **Show Days Till**
3. Optional: **Compact places & countdown cards** when sharing the row with Places

## Use cases

**Product launch:** "Beta ships in 12 days" stays visible while you work through the launch schedule.

**Travel:** Count down to a conference or client visit without a separate calendar widget.

**Personal milestones:** Birthdays, renewals, or certification exams—glanceable context, not a task.

## Tips

- Keep the list short—three to five active countdowns is plenty
- Overdue or past events may still appear depending on configuration; edit or remove stale items during weekly review on **Overview**
- Use **Days Till** for dates; use **Actions with due dates** for work that must get done
